Realism..

It’s been long since I posted anything here. Perhaps I was too busy with so many unimportant things in life.
Well my intentions to this post are sincerely out of watching a woman based movie which impelled the ‘feminist’ in me.

A man has always been considered superior to a woman. He is stronger physically with better stature, broader shoulders and brawny muscles. He has always been hunting for food and cultivating a living to feed his family. He has been the ruler, the achiever, and the savior for many provinces, societies and nations. He is seen to be born to govern and dominate.
On the other hand there is a woman with delicate and fragile features who is assigned a small place in the backdrop. She is supposed to create a safe shelter for the mighty man taking care of his appetite, delivering his offspring and bringing them up.

Things have changed now with the woman but man remains the same. A woman is now emancipated who can challenge her counterpart in all the planes of his activity. She can now prove her mettle and merit to the whole world. And such a development has only given rise to arguments, quarrels, divorces, old age homes, orphanages etc.
Why do we still believe in the myth that man is superior to woman? He is not. None of them is superior to the other. Both are complimentary. There is no comparison. A man cannot do without a woman and vice versa. One does not exist without the other. Together their life is complete and meaningful. Both of them have their own charms, roles, duties and responsibilities.

All of us have to believe in it. And not just us as individuals but us as a society, us as a nation. There are many subjects to fight for than gender discrimination.
I have seen many men accepting this fact and respecting women. Probably this trait of a man determines his quality. Let us not be man or woman, let us be just individual human beings. May be this is a point of view of a woman.

Being a man I wonder if I can fully understand how a woman feels and appreciate your thoughts. However, I am one of the men who accepts what you've written.

Ego(not only male ego) plays a major role in the problems that have cropped up due to better economical status of women.

Yes, the discrimination prevails not only in economically or socially weaker sects but also in the so-called high-class or literate societies and IT IS SAD.

(This comment is nothing to do with my intention of writing something nice to you; it is based on objective reading of the post:})

Such kind of discrimination probably exists because of lack of education prevailing. An educated and sensible person would always respect any individual irrespective of a gender bias.. In my opinion as and when the educated class increases, such discrimination would eventually phase out. Also India's rising young class in the age of 20-35 years will contribute to bringing more equality around...

nice topic to write on Rich ...
well ,ur right when u say , we have lots of other things to break our head abt than gender discrimination...having said tht , we still aren in a state to focus our energies to other subjects , coz , we still r grossly insensitve...n maybe , i believe tackling this in a sense solves so many other issues ...if ur sensitive to a woman , dont u see a tangible effect on this absurd growing population ?...if a man starts getting sensitised to certain things he takes for granted..like women , dont u see this heightened awareness makes him sensitive to so many other issues which is insensitive about...i think this sensitivity will go a long way in implicitly helping to solve other issues , this misplaced belief in male superiority n his constant need to prove it , which leads to wars n would also get impacted , if he becomes sensitive.. farfetched as it might seem , i believe they r all entiwned ...make man sensitive , sensitive enough to treat women as equals ,dont try bother much on other issues , they will get resolved on their own ....

cheers...keep posting
